Our Ethics
“Our values are rooted in the principles of a business established by a small group of photographers, naturalists, and outdoor enthusiasts. Our love and enthusiasm for wildlife, the great outdoors, and reconnecting with nature have inspired us to lead a lifestyle dedicated to sharing our passion with others.“

Leave no Trace
Kings of Arran is committed to the principles of ecotourism. We work very hard to ensure our engagements with local communities, wildlands and wildlife are positive.
We are proud to adopt the 7 principles of the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, which enhances our commitment to sustainable tourism in Scotland’s great outdoors.
The phrase “leave no trace” is central to the principles of wilderness ethics, indicating that we take care to minimise our impact on the natural environment. This includes things like packing out all trash, avoiding disturbing wildlife, and being mindful of where we walk and camp. By following these guidelines, we can help preserve the beauty and integrity of wilderness areas for future generations to enjoy.
Low Carbon Tourism
“Low Carbon Tourism” is the term used to refer to a type of tourism that aims to minimize the carbon footprint generated by travel and tourism activities. It involves using sustainable transportation modes, such as bicycles or electric vehicles, and staying in eco-friendly accommodations that utilize renewable energy sources and implement green practices. At Kings of Arran, we aim to reduce the negative impact of tourism on the environment and promote sustainable development in the tourism industry.
Our Values
We understand that capturing images of unspoiled landscapes, crystal clear rivers, pristine beaches, and natural valleys has shaped who we are as individuals. We must safeguard the planet so that future generations of photographers and naturalists can have their own experiences.
We strongly believe that for individuals, communities, and businesses to make decisions that minimize their impact on our planet, they must first appreciate the value of what we have. We believe that the most effective way for people to appreciate and value our natural ecosystems is by experiencing their natural beauty firsthand. By immersing themselves in nature, they can see the magnificence of a forest, feel the strength of the ocean, and learn to cherish what exists beyond our towns and cities. This will inspire them to take action. We aim to make a small contribution to people’s awareness of the impact they have on the world through the services we offer.
We hope that you will cherish the experiences Kings of Arran offer as much as we enjoy providing them.
