Wildlife Photography Tours

Arran is a haven for wildlife photography enthusiasts. The sheer diversity of species, from the majestic golden eagles, otters, red deer, and common seals highlights the richness of our island’s ecosystems. Arran also serves as a sanctuary for endangered species like the red squirrels, hen harriers, pine martins and capercaillie, underscoring the importance of conservation efforts in preserving these delicate natural habitats. There is always something to point your lens at, and the landscapes of mountain, sea, sky and glen are simply spectacular.

Wildlife Photography on the Glen

Join our wildlife photography tour as we explore the glens of Arran, carved by glacial forces over millennia. Discover the flora, fauna and incredible geology of these majestic places. Keep your eyes peeled for the kings of sky, birds of prey such as golden eagles, hen harriers and common buzzards. And don’t be surprised if we spot a red deer or two. There are more deer than people on Arran and spotting a whole heard is not uncommon.

The wildlife doesn’t stop there. We might encounter wheatears hopping from rock to rock, or stone chats perched on heather-covered slopes. If we are lucky we might catch a glimpse of Arran‘s lesser known residents, such as the reptiles that call these glens home.

Regardless of the wildlife, there is an abundance of wild plants dotting the landscape, vibrant heathers and delicate mosses for those with a penchant for macro photography. Whether we choose Glen Rosa, Glen Sannox, or Glen Catacol, we’ll be surrounded by towering peaks, deep forests and epic skies.

It’s a chance to connect with nature on a deeper level, and you’ll even learn a little about the rich cultural heritage woven into the fabric of these wild places.
